The conference venue will be the Plymouth Hoe
Moat House overlooking the famous Hoe and
Plymouth Sound. Plymouth is one of Britain’s
most famous and historic naval bases. In 1588
Sir Francis Drake is reputed to have continued
playing bowls when the invading Spanish Armada
was sighted sailing up the Channel. The Pilgrim
Fathers set sail for the New World in the
Mayflower from Plymouth in 1620. The
conference’s technical and social activities will
utilise all the connections of Plymouth to create
a fascinating four-day programme.
